When staying in Hostels make sure you know the curfew! or else you may be locked out and have to wake up the owner....eek!
Speak the Local Language, or try too atleast! The people love hearing a foreigner speak it and it shows your interest in their language/culture.
If you find yourself in the Kumasi Region of Ghana, ask a local to find you a good spot for Pito. It's a local favorite made with fermented fruit, and won't be found on the main roads.
